Terroir and vine

The Barbossi Estate produces high quality wines.

Situated in the foothills of the Esterel Massif, just a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean, the vines of the Barbossi Estate are 25 years old. The grape varieties grown are traditional : Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Carignan.
Although the Esterel has primarily clay and sand alluvial soils, the diversity of the terroir gives us many options, from robust wines to more refined examples.
Although the Mediterranean climate offers us grapes bursting with sugar, the maritime influence and the vegetation unique to the Esterel Massif provide coolness and acidity.
White grape varieties such as Rolle, Muscat petit grain and Chardonnay will soon be available. We only till our soil in the traditional way : we proceed with light tilling after the grape harvest, as well as ridging and ploughing back to clean between the vines, and we leave the herbs between the rows until the summer.
